Preschool Students
ECE Summer Camp
WHO: Preschool students who were enrolled during the 23-24 school year.
WHAT: We will be offering a Summer Camp program at Englewood ECE this summer for our currently enrolled students. The camp is Monday through Friday from 8:00 - 3:00 during select weeks in June and July with breakfast and lunch provided. During the summer, students spend most days outside engaging in games, water play, gardenting, and doing special projects. Space is limited and filled on a first come basis.

To support learning and exploration while preparing for the upcoming school year. Students in K-5 (school year 2023-2024) are invited to grow academically and socio-emotionally, explore new interests, connect with peers and continue to build a healthy self identity during summer programming. Through teamwork, we will engage in challenges, fun, and learning to grow our brains and hearts. This is one of the ways that Englewood Schools provide intentional additional support for students with low-income backgrounds, students of color, Multilingual Learners, and others who may benefit from additional support to decrease summer learning loss.

Multilingual Learner Language & STEM Camp is a two hour extension offered to current K - 5 students in the English Language Development program. Multilingual students attending summer school will stay for an extra two hours to participate in hands-on experiences to develop academic language and skills through Language Experience Approach. Curriculum content is based on the 4 domains of language.

This STEM camp is an extension opportunity for gifted education students, in grades 2-6, to come together for some summer STEM activities and learning. Amanda Ortiz-Torres, Gifted Education Coordinator will be supporting programming with Kay Bolerjack as the STEM teacher.

Career Pathway Summer Program
Career Pathway Summer Program
The Career Pathway Summer Program is for students currently in grades 6-8 (in the 2024-25 school year) to explore the robust Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs offered at Englewood High School and Colorado's Finest High School of Choice. The program will offer students a hands-on introduction to various STEAM fields and CTE programs.
The Career Pathway Summer Program will be designed to:
* expose students to a variety of CTE pathways and courses offered at our high schools
* help students explore and develop interests
* develop foundational skills that students can continue to build in high school
* help students make connections between future interests and academic choices and achievement
* build awareness of postsecondary options
WHO: 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students (in the 2023-2024 school year)

TRANSPORTATION: Englewood Schools will provide transportation for this program. A more detailed pickup and drop off schedule will be provided as soon as those details are worked out.
The Career Pathway Summer Program will offer students a hands-on introduction to various fields and CTE programs including audio/music production, broadcasting and video production, cosmetology, culinary arts, engineering, and urban agriculture/sustainable agriculture and green energy. Application deadline is April 21, 2024.

Breakthrough is an intensive six-week daily summer program that provides rigorous instruction in math, language arts, and science. There is a strong focus on leadership, team building, financial literacy, mental health, and the arts.

Camp Code For Girls
WHO: Girls entering the 8th, 9th, or 10th grade (in the 2024-2025 school year) who are interested in pursuing future careers in the STEM fields
WHEN:

WHERE: CSU Spur Campus, Hydro Building 4777 National Western Drive, Denver, CO 80216.
COST: Free (Please note that the Girl Scouts charge a $25 “commitment fee” to reduce no-shows. If you cannot afford the $25 fee, you can select the option for financial assistance at checkout.)

This free one-week camp is designed for girls entering 8th, 9th or 10th grade (in the 2024-2025 school year) to spark their interest in pursuing future careers in the STEM fields. Participants take part in a variety of educational coding games and activities led by experienced female software developers. Camp Code introduces participants to a variety of women in technology and explores the diverse opportunities available to women who code.

Summer Science Institute
Middle school students (incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th) have the opportunity to explore fun applications
of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in an exciting, hands-on, team-oriented atmosphere on the Auraria Campus. Metropolitan State University of Denver faculty will teach classes and prepare students in STEM concepts. This is a two-week, half-day program.

WHO: High school students who want to catch-up or get ahead
WHEN: Tuesday, May 28 - Friday, June 14, 2024 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
WHERE: Online or at Englewood High School (3800 S. Logan St. Englewood, CO 80113)
COST: Free for summer 2024 due to federal grant funding.
Programs will be delivered both in-person and online - families can choose the delivery option that works best for their student. Successful completion of the summer program will allow students the opportunity to receive credit for a class - either recovering credit from a previously failed class or taking a class for the first time. Students may take one course at a time - should they complete a course by June 7, they will have the opportunity to take another core class. All coursework must be completed by 1:00 p.m. on June 14 to receive credit.

College Prep Workshops for Seniors
Feeling overwhelmed by the college process? You're not alone! Let experts in the college admission field help reduce your stress with two FREE upcoming college prep workshops. These workshops will guide EHS and CFHSC seniors through every step of the process, from creating a list of colleges that fit you to submitting your application with confidence.
WORKSHOP 1: College 101/College Tours Camp
Students will gain a deep understanding of the college selection process while visiting four different college campuses. Topics covered include: understanding college fit, how to build solid college list and learning about options for paying for college.
Who: Seniors in 2024-25
Dates: May 28 - 31, 2024
Times: 8:30 - 3:30; times may vary based on the college visit location.
Spots Available: 35
Cost: FREE
Location: Englewood High School.
College Visits: University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Colorado State University in Fort Collins, and Regis University in Denver.
Transportation: Englewood Schools will provide transportation for this program. A more detailed pickup and drop off schedule will be provided closer to the start of the program.
Meals: Breakfast and lunch will be provided and paid for by Englewood Schools for each day.
Program Format: Students will arrive at Englewood High School each morning where they will participate in College Preparation Curriculum including determining best fit, financial aid, application process and timeline, requesting letters of recommendation, and college essay practice. After students engage in the curriculum, the group will be picked up by a bus to travel to the college campus that is scheduled for the day. Once the group arrives at the college, they will participate in a group tour and presentation by the college. Lunch will either be provided at the college or at a location near the college. Details on meals will be communicated as this event approaches.

WORKSHOP #2: Common App Camp
EHS and CFHSC seniors will do a deep dive into every aspect of the Common Application. The Common Application (Common App) is an application that is accepted by more than 800 colleges and universities in the United States and several international schools. With one application, one main essay, and possible supplemental essays, seniors can apply to multiple schools. Topics in this workshop include: creating a Common App account, reviewing all sections of the Common App, how to write your college essay, how to showcase your talents, skills, and achievements, how to request a letter of recommendation, and how to manage application timelines. Explore the fastest growing health occupations in Colorado: Nursing, Medical Assistant, Medical Lab Technician, Patient Care Technician, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy, Physical Therapy Assistant, Radiology Technologist, Sonography Technician, Sterile Processing Technician, and Surgical Technical. Learn about postsecondary certification pathways and career navigation. Get hands-on and virtual job shadow experience. Earn entry-level credentials in Basic Life Support, CPR, and HIPPA. Summer Science Scholars Program
The Center for Advanced STEM Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU
Denver) announces our summer program for rising high school seniors and current seniors,
community college students who are interested in STEM. This three-week full day program of
learning STEM through a research project, exploring university resources is funded in part by
Xcel Energy Foundation, Virginia Hill Foundation and by the Building Identity Leading to
Diversity (BUILD) Project. Priority will be given to students from historically underrepresented
groups.
Dates: June 10 to June 28, 2024
Times: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., M – F (lunch will be provided daily)

**$500 Stipend will be provided to participants who attend the full three‐weeks of programming

Englewood High School is offering a Pirate Prep Program for incoming EHS freshmen. In this four day program, students will get to know their teachers, the school, and acquire essential academic strategies to help them succeed at EHS. Ninth grade teachers will welcome the Class of 2028 on August 1, 2024
