Englewood Schools' safety protocols:

Safety and Security in Our Schools

At Englewood Schools, the safety and security of our students are our highest priorities. While it is impossible to completely eliminate the risk of dangerous situations, we take comprehensive preventive measures to create a safe environment.

The most important step we can take is maintaining awareness of who is in and around our schools. To support this effort:

  • All visitors are required to check in at the main office and wear a visitor’s badge. We have asked all school personnel to make this a priority.
  • Employees are trained to stop and engage individuals they do not recognize.
  • Students, especially older ones, are encouraged to immediately report any unidentified individuals to a teacher or school official.

We are also strengthening building security by keeping non-essential doors locked. All doors are monitored for open-close status to prevent unauthorized access.

Parents and neighbors can help by staying alert to unusual activity around school buildings and reporting concerns promptly.

Local law enforcement and district security have increased their presence around our schools. Englewood Schools have prioritized safety and security to align with the Partner Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS) tiered recommendations for security deployments.

Our collaboration with local law enforcement includes emergency preparedness drills and the support of school resource officers to ensure our schools remain safe learning environments.

As parents ourselves, we deeply understand and share your concerns. Rest assured, we continuously look for ways to enhance the robust security measures already in place. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
