UPDATE: On December 1, 2022, Englewood Schools Board of Education is pleased to announce that Ms. Joanna Polzin will be moving forward as the sole finalist for the position of Superintendent of Schools beginning July 1, 2023. The Board anticipates finalizing the selection of Ms. Polzin to this position at a Special Meeting to be held on December 15, 2022, pending the outcome of successful contract negotiations.

The Englewood Schools Board of Education is currently conducting a search for the next Superintendent for our District. After hosting an input session with many community, family and district stakeholders on October 24, the job description was posted on October 31. Candidates  must complete the application process by November 14. On November 15, the Board will review the applications in executive session pursuant to Section 24-6-402(4)(g), C.R.S. and determine which candidates will move forward in the process.

Those candidates chosen to move forward will participate in two candidate Town Halls on November 28 and 29.

The November 28 Town Hall will take place at ECE from 6-7:30 pm. This session will be for parents, students, and interested community members. The candidates will share their qualifications and interest in the Superintendent role, and then there will be an open Q&A session.

The November 29 Town Hall will take place at ECE from 4-5:30 pm. This session will be for Englewood Schools staff. The candidates will share their qualifications and interest in the Superintendent role, and then there will be an open Q&A session.

At both Town Halls, audience members will be given the chance to submit questions for the candidates at the meeting, or anyone can submit questions for the candidates before the events by completing this form no later than November 23. At the conclusion of both Town Halls, audience members will be asked to complete a brief survey sharing their thoughts on the candidates.

The Town Halls will not be streamed online, so those who want to participate are encouraged to do so by coming to the meetings in person.

The Board will evaluate the Town Hall Feedback, and interview the candidates on November 30. The Board will identify finalist(s) on December 1. If a sole finalist is identified, between December 1-15, contract negotiations will occur. If there are multiple finalists, additional interviews with the Board will occur, with contract negotiations occurring after a sole finalist is named. The Board anticipates formally announcing the next Superintendent at a special meeting on December 15.
