On March 31st over 100 teacher-authored instructional units based on the Colorado Academic Standards became available on the Standards and Instructional Support
web pages. The units, authored by teams of teachers in school districts across the state, include learning experiences, teacher and student resources, assessment ideas, and differentiation options. One full instructional unit, based on select curriculum overview samples
has been written for each grade and content area of the Colorado Academic Standards (i.e., one unit in each grade k-12 for mathematics, reading, writing, and communicating, science, social studies, comprehensive health, visual arts, drama/theatre, dance, and music). To date, educators from 116 Colorado school districts have been involved in authoring and/or refining the samples created in Colorado’s District Sample Curriculum Project.
