CFHSC Digital Audio Students Build Microphones

CFHSC Digital Audio Production (DAP) students constructed microphones as part of a course where they earn college credit at Arapahoe Community College. Students learned soldering and had to pass a proficiency test before being allowed to construct their microphone. The DAP students had to explain the physics behind and the recording characteristics of microphones in a format of their choice.

The DAP students were required to use their microphone to record sound. They composed a song based on their recorded sound. They had the choice to manipulate, add effects and multi-track using a Digital Audio Workstation.
